The White Tower, a trademark of Thessaloniki, the city hosting the conference, is formed by 5 rectangular shapes representing volumes/books. Each book/volume has a different colour, thus highlighting the diversity of the music. At the same time, the two symbols (the F key of Western musical notation and the "low" of Byzantine musical notation) show that musical expression is one and universal, regardless of the way it is recorded in music books and manuals.
